Oak

Nuttall

Quercus “nuttallii”

Nuttall oaks are easy to establish and grow very quickly as a young tree. They tolerate poorly drained sites more than any other red oak. It quickly grows into a pyramidal shape with a strong central leader. Nuttall oaks drop their leaves cleanly in late fall. Their bright red fall color runs from mid to late fall. There is plenty of room beneath the branches, making it an excellent lawn, patio, or street tree. They don’t develop surface roots and won’t invade water lines.
